Camp John Hay, Baguio

During our trip to Baguio, I initially wanted to book our stay in The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay. However, my husband, as practical as he was, did not want me to spend so much money on a hotel considering we came here for the experience and simply to bond with his childhood friend. And according to him, we would only need a place to sleep in at night since most of the day would be spent checking out tourist spots in Baguio. He has a point. So alright, boss!

We visited Camp John Hay for the sole reason that we wanted to visit Choco-Late de Batirol. On our way there, I was astonished by the beautiful view of tall trees and fresh green grass everywhere! There were literally more trees than buildings since there were only limited developments inside. I certainly hope that in the coming years, Camp John Hay can maintain what it is right now.

I was also surprised to see Convergys here. Apparently, Camp John Hay has this place called The Technohub where businesses operate 24 hours. The Technohub is comparable to IT Park in Cebu but with more open areas. With that being said, transportation is not an issue inside because there are taxis around 24/7.

There is also a Golf Club here which we didn't get to see that much. And this is also where you can find the Cemetery of Negativism, The Bell House & its Secret Garden, Butterfly Sanctuary and Tree Top Adventure. I've posted separate blog articles for those places. We did not get to try the last two places though because we ran out of time and got hungry. Haha.

Camp John Hay's peaceful outdoor environment can definitely satisfy that wanderlust in you with a great deal of views & ground where you can just freely sit on the grass & contemplate.

There is also a spot just beside Choco-Late de Batirol that looked very fairytale-like. The place has a few garden arches wrapped with plants & flowers, and everything was just bright green.

On our way back to Baguio's City Proper for lunch, we passed by this modern abode which, according to Orvic, was owned by the eccentric entrepreneur, Joel Cruz, owner of Aficionado. It is really hard to miss & I personally find the house very tacky, considering it looked out of place in Camp John Hay's wooded environment. Its modern architecture contradicts to the place's log cabin theme. I hope Camp John Hay does something about this.

But regardless, I still managed to take an Instagram photo with my loving husband. This was the only one I managed to post on Instagram though.
