Cebu Paradise Resort, San Remigio

San Remigio boasts of having Cebu's longest shoreline and located 90-115km (or 2-3 hours) away from Cebu City which is great for unwinding one's stressful & busy life. Beaches here are described as 'naturally extraordinaire'. And with a number of resorts dotting the area, I finally had the chance to prove this to myself after spending a night in one of their beautiful beaches for our team outing last April 2-3, 2016... in Cebu Paradise Resort!

GETTING THERE:

We rented a 16-seater van that picked us up from Cebu City. If I remembered correctly, the entire van costed P2240 for a one way trip (P140 each for 16 people). You can also catch a bus from North Bus Terminal heading to Hagnaya for around P120 or so. The trip will take around 3 hrs and will pass by San Remigio on its way to Hagnaya. It's also possible to catch a bus to Bogo City since you can already take a jeepney from Bogo to San Remigio.

Tip: If you are bringing a privately-owned vehicle or privately-rented vehicle, it's best to take the route from Toledo-Tabuelan which will help shorten the trip to 2.5 hrs. We took the Bogo route (3-hour travel) since we had to stop by the public market in Bogo.

THE RESORT:

Cebu Paradise Resort, or previously known as 'Victoria Hard Rock Resort', stands by the tagline "Almost surrounded with water". And I'd have to say, this resort is true to its tagline with a wide shore line on the beach's property (compared to those resorts in Mactan with ugly beach walls separating the resorts) and cottages built over the water. After setting foot on this beautiful resort, I was immediately allured by its scenic and panoramic views so I immediately took pictures of the place. The resort occupies a wide area and has a profuse of amenities & services to offer their guests. This includes:

Restaurant w/ rooftop
Grilling Area
2 Swimming Pool
Changing/Shower Rooms
Tennis Table
Volleyball/Basketball Court
Karaoke/Billiard (P200/hr)
Ocean Bike/Kayaking (P250/hr)
*kayaking can have up to 2 riders per kayak

Rooms:
Standard Garden Room (P1500/night)
Deluxe Garden Room (P3000/night)
Family Room (good for 10: P4500/night)
Family Room (good for 14: P5800/night)
Cottage Above Water (good for 4: P3500/night)
*tents not allowed.. booo!

The team and I occupied their Family Room (good for 14). We also added extra mattresses that costs P350/mattress. The room was clean. The beds, pillows and blankets were also clean -- smells like fresh laundry in Downy! Bathroom was clean but the room we stayed in had a broken lock in the comfort room so we had to keep the door closed with our hands while using the toilet. Struggle!

This is the resort's family room. We occupied the room on the right.
Meet my teammate, Angel. Haha.
The beach had 'almost white' sand. In my opinion it was more of an ivory in color. Sand wasn't exactly fine in texture since some parts were rocky. The water was cold but I loved it since their pool water was warm (which is also good). Although the beach water wasn't crystal clear. It turns brown when you step on the sand underwater and when I lifted my feet I saw that the sand was a mix of brown & gray. There are also rocks underwater so be careful. And I suggest that you wear slippers with back straps if you're planning to walk to the farther side of the beach since there are parts wherein the sand underwater gets muddy and if you're wearing regular slippers then better be ready to say goodbye to them (your slippers) because the sand would swallow it up -- just like what happened to my friend. We decided to just bathe near the shoreline where the sand was soft and there were less rocks.

We wanted to go kayaking but they only had 1 available kayak then. The rest hasn't been checked for safety.
We also tried their very tempting swimming pool. The adult pool was deep -- around 5-6 feet I guess. They also had a kiddie pool. And lifeguards were always present. The kiddie pool had cute whale statues and a little slide which looks fun. Sad that I didn't bring my kids with me then. They would have enjoyed the place.

I love this part of the pool area.

The restaurant also had free Wifi. There were only a few guests then so the internet connection was fast! The only downside here are the prices of their drinks.. a 500ml bottled water costs P35, a gallon of water is P60, beer costs P150.. juices & shakes though were around P50-55 which I find reasonable but my friends complained that it was too expensive. LOL. They don't sell hard drinks here so might as well bring some yourself if you're planning to get drunk. And ice? Well, ice run out easily.

Manong wanted to pose for the picture but wasn't able to get a clear photo of him since he moved.

Overall, the place was great! It's peaceful, affordable & serene. And I didn't find the place crowded even if there were 4-5 groups (including us) staying at the resort that time. There are also lots of trees, grass, plants & flowers to bring out that paradise feel. Definitely instagrammable! In fact, here are some of the Instagram photos I took at this resort:
