Wright Park, Baguio

Right after visiting Camp John Hay and eating lunch at The Slaughter House (where I tried Orvic's favorite dish, the Papaitan), we decided to head to another one of Baguio's famous tourist attractions -- Wright Park.

Wright Park actually has a large open ring with a horse stable dedicated for horseback riding. We paid P200 for a 30-minute ride. You can also ride for an hour and pay P300. My husband and I took turns riding with our son, Yuri, because kids need to be accompanied on the ride. There would also be a guide (or "pony boy" as they call it) who would lead the horse while you ride.  Don't worry, these guys are experienced handlers.

There is an inner circle for walking horses and an outer circle for the much experienced riders who prefer running horses.  There are also viewing decks and benches for those who wants to take photos/videos of their kids riding.

For Instagram-purposes, I asked for the white pony with pink hair not knowing that this innocent-looking pony was actually very frisky. Some horses can be a little aggressive and irritable though. I personally almost got a horseshoe tattoo here when one of the horses tried to kick me. Piece of advise to anyone planning to come here... NEVER stand behind the horses. They're easily threatened and would most likley kick you all the way to Batanes if you're not careful. Haha.

However, if you're too scared to ride but would love to take a photo with the horses for Instagram, you can actually pay the guide P20-P50 for unlimited shots. You can also hire one of the photographers in the vicinity for the price P150 and take home one professionally-taken photo as souvenir.

But horseback riding isn't the only attraction in Wright Park. You can also take pictures with a Saint Bernard Dog for only P50 for 5 pictures. We took more than 5 pictures though but the lady didn't mind. Haha. The dog is very well-behaved despite being so enormous. You can actually hug him!

Big ol' St.Bernard wants to kiss me.
Using this photo. Not my fault you blinked, hubby! Haha!

There are actually more places to see in Wright Park like the Pool of Pines and The Mansion which we didn't get to visit because it already started raining. Not only that, you can also rent Igorot Costumes here for P50. I wanted to rent but hubby was being KJ (Kill Joy) and found it too pricey. Hmp! Also, if you get hungry after all the activities you can head to Ketchup Food Community just across the road. I wanted to visit the place but hubby wasn't in the mood to eat. Remind me to come back to Baguio with someone else next time! LOL.

And here's that Instagram photo I was talking about with the pink horsey I personally chose! Say hello to Marshmallow!
